Internet Safety
Internet safety has been our focus in the computer lab this past month. We used the NetSmartsKidz website to help illustrate key points. Clicky was a great assistant but the favorite in grades 3-5 was FauxPaw, on the I Keep Safe web site. Please take some time to explore these sites and then share with you child.
October is
Computers in Education Month!
A Computer Learning Month Activities sheet was sent home with the September newsletter. Complete these activities during the month of October to earn computer experience and a prize!!!!! As students complete each activity, an adult should initial and date the activity in the box provided. Don’t forget…the public library is a great place to spend an afternoon and complete some activities using the computers!
All students returning the activity list with at least 4 completed items will receive a certificate of participation. To earn a prize, students in kindergarten through third grade must complete at least 8 activities. Students in fourth and fifth grades must complete at least 16 activities.
All dated and initialed activity lists must be returned to Ms. Davis no later than Monday, November 1st. Prizes and certificates will be distributed in November.
Have fun during Computer Learning Month!!
